October Crubox: Louis/Dressner
This month, we’ve decided it’s time to explore another trailblazing importer – Louis/Dressner. Despite the name, there never was a “Louis Dressner,” but rather the name refers to the founder Joe Dressner and his wife, Denyse Louis, who in 1988 began their import company to champion small growers working via what would now be termed “natural winemaking”methods.
The wines in this month’s CruBox represent honest growers brimming with passion for what they do, all working in about as natural a way as possible – organic/biodynamic viticulture, natural yeast fermentations, minimum sulfur at bottling, and sensible approaches to barrel aging. These are all stunning wines you can feel good drinking.
